Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:24-25
The same way we became a Christian, by grace through faith, is the same way we continue as Christians and it’s the Holy Spirit who fuels our spiritual living! As we work to submit our lives to Christ, our old habits try to creep back and tempt us not to trust God, but the Spirit empowers us with wisdom and guidance. We’ll be diving deep into the power of the Spirit in the next few weeks starting with the TRINITY SUNDAY this Sunday, May 22nd.
CONNECTING WITH OUR SCHOOLS: not only has our connection to WISD been exciting through Kids Beach Club but we are now going to be part of an exciting new Education Foundation being created to raise money for alternative revenue sources for our schools. This Foundation is made up of community volunteers and will be well represented by members of our church … I am excited to be on this new Board, but I’m very excited that Ted Haynes, Ken Ragsdale, Sandra Strickland, and Dave Wilcox will be founding members of this important new organization also! What a blessing to be engaged with such a worthwhile cause that will provide teachers with GRANTS to go above and beyond for their students. Watch for more information!
Speaking of the schools, we will be hosting both the GIRL’s and BOYS’ softball banquets in our FAMILY LIFE CENTER. The girls’ banquet is this Monday night, May 23rd, at 6 pm and the boy’s date is pending so stay tuned. The meals will be catered so we don’t yet know if they will need our help, but I’ll keep you posted! Again, we are blessed to be a blessing!
